We are looking for a skilled product manager who can effectively manage product build outs with various groups of internal and external stakeholders in a consulting environment. You must be able to work with a fast moving team that ships beautiful and high fidelity products to customers by managing the overall schedule, budget, product requirements, and client relationship, while interfacing with the design team who deliver the UX and UI designs and the engineering team who builds it. We run our teams with Agile Methodology.
You will have the following responsibilities:
Product strategy.
Depending on the project, you may work with clients to help develop their product strategy. This might include recommending user research and overseeing the execution of it, more deeply digging into the problem the client wants to solve through product development, and advising the client on key product decisions such as pricing, the product roadmap, and prioritization of features.
Client management.
You are the first point of contact for a client, meeting with them regularly to help craft the plan to implement their product, keeping them updated on progress, managing their expectations, and advising them on key choices related to the project. To be successful, you will have to anticipate client concerns, listen deeply and well to the client, develop rapport with the client so they feel comfortable talking about positive and negative aspects of how the project is going, and, ideally, become their trusted advisor. It also means that you are the client’s advocate to ensure that work always is aligned with the client’s expectations, that you present the client options when scope and budget conflict, that you clearly articulate the client’s requirements to design and engineering, and that you clearly translate design and engineering questions and concerns to the client.
Project budget and task management.
You are ultimately accountable for the success of your projects, which means managing the budget, schedule, development of and adherence to client requirements, and quality of the work produced. You do this by working closely with the head of the design and engineering teams and with individual designers, analysts, engineers and data scientists, leveraging lateral relationships in the organization to bring together a beautiful product or insightful outcome for the client. You are supported by the Head of Product and a team of product managers who can provide advice on how to navigate difficult situations. This includes:
Sales support, project scoping and estimating.
Working with the CEO and sales team, you will be responsible for scoping out an individual project’s requirements with the client, writing Scopes of Work (SOWs) and working with the design and engineering teams to estimate the level of effort (in hours) and creating a project budget for a bid. This will also include:
Supporting process improvements. You will support the Head of Product in improving our internal processes that ensure a positive customer experience and value for the customer. We are a constantly improving organization and welcome all members of the team to make suggestions on how we can improve.
